Here are a few troubleshooting tips, if MAIRA is not currently working right for you.
Logitech Wheelbases
TrueForce API
Logitech wheelbase users must also disable the iRacing simulator’s support for TrueForce. To do this, edit the app.ini file which is located in the documents iRacing folder, and find and replace loadTrueForceAPI=1 with loadTrueForceAPI=0 and save.
G Hub
Some users have also reported issues when the Logitech G Hub is running. If you have a Logitech wheelbase and you have already disabled support for TrueForce as described above, and MAIRA is still not working for you, then please check and see if G Hub is running, and exit that app if it is.
Simplicity Wheelbases
Comment from a user –
I’ve been using the app for awhile and found a nice improvement in detail, but not quite to the degree some have reported. I am using one of the Simplicity SW25 wheels. I had thought most of my filtering was very low or off, but I just checked today and there was more than I thought. I disabled the filtering and it’s really come alive. I’ve always found the Porsche Cup hard to feel near the limit but after making this tweak it suddenly seems significantly more intuitive.
Moza Wheelbases
Some users have reported that you need to have Moza Pit House running, in order for MAIRA to work.
Other Suggestions
Here is a collection of comments and suggestions from other people. I have not personally tested these, but you may give these a try and maybe some of these will work for you –
Something else that might be worth mentioning. I found this in app.ini
resetWhenFFBLost=1 ; Attempt to reset device when force feedback interrupted by SteamVR or another application, may cause a momentary loss in steering
I’ve set it to 0 here and I’m not sure but I get the feeling things work a bit smoother.
App Crashes
If the app is crashing, you can help me greatly by sending me the event viewer log of the crash. Here are some instructions on how to get this –
- Hit the Windows key and type “event viewer” and run the event viewer app
- Click on “Windows Logs”
- Click on “Application” (under “Windows Logs”)
- Right click on “Application” and select “Filter Current Log…”
- Tick the “Error” checkbox and click on OK
- Look for “.NET Runtime” as the source and click on it
- The first line in the “General” box should say “Application: MarivsAIRA.exe” – this is the correct one.
- The information I need is all the geek-speak text in the “General” box – copy and paste the complete text into a DM to me on the iRacing forums.
